"Would You Like To Become A Referee?"
Date: February 20 - May 2, 2018

The Winnipeg South End United Referee Committee, in preparation for the 2018 outdoor soccer season, is looking for suitable young men and women to become youth soccer referees. Applicants must be reliable, respectful, responsible, and able to work independently.  All candidates must turn 14 years of age prior to April 30, 2018  to register for the Entry Level Youth course.  Applicants who turn 12 prior to April 30, 2018  may register for the “small side” course to referee younger ages only.

To become a referee you must attend a training course offered through the Manitoba Soccer Association. It consists of four (4) three and a half hour modules with a written exam at the end. Successful completion of this course allows applicants to become certified youth referees registered with both the Manitoba Soccer Association and Canadian Soccer Association. You will have to pay $36 membership fee above the cost of the course. Small side referees do not pay membership fees as they are not considered fully certified.

  • ·         An individual who takes the entry level course may also referee small sided matches without having to take a small sided referee course.

Registration links for specific clinics can be found beneath clinic dates on this page. The candidate will register and make payment directly to the MSA via the Goalline system for any particular course.

Upon completion of their online registration, participants will receive a confirmation e-mail that will include a link to download an electronic version of the FIFA Laws of the Game and a pre-course workbook as well as course information and instructions. A hard copy of the FIFA Laws of the Game will be provided to each participant at the first module of the clinic.
